Position: Senior Accountant / CFO
Location: Lowell, AR
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Accountant or Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the financial operations of multiple small businesses under single ownership. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure optimal financial health across various business units. The Senior Accountant/CFO will work closely with the owner and management teams to provide insights and recommendations for growth, efficiency, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight: Manage financial statements, ledgers, budgets, and all accounting functions for multiple businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and relevant local regulations.
Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and ad hoc analyses to guide decision-making.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and monitor budgets for each business, provide financial forecasts, and conduct variance analyses to track and optimize performance.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow across all entities, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs and investments.
Strategic Planning: Partner with the owner to develop and execute financial strategies that support long-term growth and profitability.
Tax & Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely tax filings, manage relationships with external tax advisors, and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Risk Management: Assess financial risks and develop policies to minimize exposure while maximizing returns.
Team Development: Supervise accounting staff or outsourced accounting teams across business entities, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of financial management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's or CPA preferred).
7+ years of accounting/financial management experience, preferably with experience managing multiple business units.
Strong understanding of GAAP, tax laws, and compliance regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Excel.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with business owners and managers in a multi-business environment.
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in a CFO or senior finance role overseeing multiple small to medium-sized businesses.
Experience in industries relevant to the businesses (if applicable).
